76/4612 [Persian miniatures]. Anonymous (late 17th/ early 18th cent., Deccan). (A beautifully clad princess holding a lotus flower in her left hand and the stem of the flower in her right hand). Opaque watercolour, ink and gold on stiff paper, 21,2x12,8 cm. (central image), 24,3x16,2 cm. (including borders), within a double border of closed (inner border) and open (outer border) lotus flowers, framed.

- A few unobtrusive very small waterstains in the blue background; corners of outer border sl. darkened; crack of 5 mm. in outer lower left corner; a few tiny rubbed spots in outer borders.

= A fine detailed portrait of a princess wearing a dress w. floral decoration under two layers of diaphanous veils covered with a very subtle painted pattern of gold decoration, the gilt stripes of the inner veil enriched w. numerous tiny pits. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LVII.
