(?) gilt burgundy mor. dropback box w. giltlettered title and facsimile signature on upper cover. - WITH loosely inserted: 3 SIGNED drawings on 2 leaves (1x in pen and ink and 2x in pencil (1x w. addition in pen and inkl)) and an AUTOGRAPH SIGNED LETTER.

- Vol.5 two plates foxed. Wrappers occas. sl. foxed/ stained; vol.5 backwr. loose. The pen and ink drawing is laid down on mount with a little sketch attached to the leaf in the right margin (where a portion of the original drawing was previously torn off). Upper joint of box sl. dam. at foot of spine; upper joint and top of spine sl. rubbed. Otherwise fine.

= Copy of the deluxe edition with handcol. etchings. One of the drawings included in the lot is the sketch for the illustration printed in vol.8 with the title "The Omnibus Brutes-, q.s[?]. which are they?" The other leaf w. drawings on recto and verso is a sketch leaf w. num. small pencil sketches. The autograph letter is dated "[...] 1846" and is an invitation to "My Dear [...?] I purpose doing myself the pleasure of breakfasting with you to morrow mo at 8 oClock [signed]."
