70/5562 Leyden, L. van (1489 or 1494-1533). David playing the harp before Saul. Engraving, 25,3x18,3 cm., monogrammed "L" (in reverse) in the plate.

- Cut on/ just outside the borderline; two professionally flattened horizontal folds and vague creases; tiny restored spots in outer margins and very narrow brown stains along the borderline.

= New Hollstein 27 I; Filedt Kok B 27(b?). A good, greyish impression (cf. New Hollstein 27 I(b)) on paper with a Unicorn watermark (not traced in Briquet and different from Filedt Kok p.171 and Hollstein p.300). Provenance (as stated on the original mount present in the lot): "No. 877 - veiling Fred. Muller 5-8 Juni 1905". SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXXVIII.
