"Foto-Kurkdjian-Soerabaia" in the plate in lower corner and w. giltlettered caption on mount, gilt colophon page w. "Presented by J.J.A. van Meel Steamshipowner & Shipbroker Rotterdam - Soerabaia", contemp. cordbound limp cl. w. mounted circular gelatin silverprint on frontcover, obl. folio.

Nice album showing landscapes and other 'tourist' scenery, (people at work on) sugar/ coffee/ rice/ rubber plantations, a close-up of a blooming robusta plant, and a fine panoramic view of Soerabaja towards the harbour and sea (one large print, 16x57,5 cm., folded in the middle; not signed), 4 attached photographs showing pages of the Weekblad voor Indië, on the sailing ship "Albertine Beatrice", which set sail for Rotterdam on February 4th, 1917, 2 group portraits (one showing the guests on the "Albertine Beatrice", the other on the "John Davie" which left for Holland on April 15th, 1917) and the ship "Nest" in a floating dry dock.
