Sayers, J. (1748-1823). A Transfer of East India Stock. Etching, ±1783, 29,5x21,8 cm.

= A rare (illegal?) contemporary copy after the print by Sayers on paper with watermark of Curteis & Sons (±1787-1800). Showing the British prime minister Fox carrying the buildings of the East India Company. An attack on the East India Bills of 1783 of the Fox administration in which the sovereignty and patronage of India was transferred from the Crown and the East India company to the British government.
