= Donkersloot-de Vrij 716-b. The first engr. map of the plan to drain the Haarlemmermeer, complete with parcellation. Also showing the plans of Leyden, Haarlem and Amsterdam.
"Kennemaria et Westfrisia vulgo et vernaculé Noord-Holland." Contemp. partly handcol. engr. map, 2 (uncol.) elaborate cartouches, 57,5x49,5 cm., Amst., N. Visscher, ±1700.
- Sl. browned; sm. tears in fold.
= On verso a letterpress table: "Naam-wyzer, waar in aangewesen worden alle de steden, dorpen, buurten, en andere plaatzen in 't Hoog-Heemraadschap der uytwaterende Sluysen, in Kennemerland ende West-Friesland, gemeenelyk genaamt Noord-Holland, als mede waar de selve in dese kaart te vinden syn" (w. the address of Nicolaas Visscher).

Never executed plan to connect Utrecht with a canal to the Zuiderzee). - ADDED: ±20 Dutch plans and views, 17th-19th cent., mostly Utrecht and surroundings, but also plans of Delfshaven and Overschie.

= Probably published as a multiple-folded plan in S. Eikelenberg and G. Boomkamp, Alkmaer en deszelfs geschiedenissen (Rott., 1747).

= Very detailed map, i.a. depicting all the 18th cent. mansions from Bakkum towards Haarlem.
AND 2 others publ. by I. TIRION: "Kaart van Noord Hollands Zuidelykste Gedeelte, behelzende het meerder deel van Kenmerland (...)" (2 marginal tears, affecting image) and "Nieuwe Kaart van Het Hoogheemraadschap van Rynland (...)" (both w. folds as published).
- Each leaf vertical fold in centre; 1x w. sm. fold in lower right corner; nevertheless fine.
= Famous map, originally published 1680 on 16 leaves, and two years later on 4 leaves and on 1 leaf. It remained unchanged in all later editions except for the coats of arms of the dike-reeves. Donkersloot-de Vrij 751. The two top sheets running from Amsterdam at the right to Medemblik at the left. Provenance: the collection A.M. van den Broek.
- Sl. creased in upper margin. = F.M. 5531.
Bemme, Joannes (1775-1841). "In val der Engelschen Noord Holland (battle of Castricum?)". Engraving after D. LANGENDIJK, 27x45,7 cm., signed "J. Bemme fec. 1799" in the plate.
= Rare print. F.M. 5555. Muller suggests that the scene shows an episode during the battle of Castricum on 6 October 1799. Curiously dated "D. Langendijk inv. et del. 1777" in the plate.
