= Almost all prints w. mounted typescript caption on small paper strip and many scenes are also identified on verso in pen and ink. Tilly Weissenborn was the first female photographer in the Netherlands Indies and was a friend of i.a. Maria Dermoût. She had her own studio called "Atelier "Lux" Garoet". The esthetic quality of her work was highly appreciated by Louis Couperus who ordered 20 photographs from her atelier to be included in his book Oostwaarts. The photographs include a few fine panoramic landscapes, views of the Sanatorium in Garoet, the Papandajan crater, and scenes from daily life (i.a. "Bokkengevecht op Aloon-aloon Garoet" and "Ritueel bij nieuwbouw, begraven van karbouwenkop".
AND another album w. 41 anonymous mounted gelatin silver prints, ±1910, between 11,5x16,5 and 21,5x16,5 cm., all mounted, in orig. dec. cl. album, obl. 4to (domestic family scenes (incl. a fine print of a painter holding his palet and brushes and seated with his children in his garden in front of a large painting), street scenes, some Indonesian landscapes (all unidentified) and a few photographs of a house and garden in Epe).
- All prints fine (and not faded). Mounts partly sl. worn/ dam. along extremities.
= Probably all from the same album. Views of Batavia (2x), Buitenzorg (2x) and Preanger (7x).
AND 3 gelatin silver prints of Buitenzorg, ±1910, i.a. "S lands Plantentuin Buitenzorg".
= Some subjects/ captions: group portraits of inhabitants of New Guinea, "Vier internen L. en R. heiden", "Christenmeisje in feestdo[ek?]" (title-strip sl. dam.), "Zuster Basila met 2 jongens", "Leest "De Maasbode"", "Kop met kam" and "Flores".
- All prints in fine condition. The binding sl. foxed and worn/ dam.
= Rich collection of prints, i.a. "Napoli Panorama", "Villa del Populo", "Panorama del Molo", "Via Roma" (2x), "S.a Lucia", "Villa Nazionale", "Riviera di Chiaia", "Posilipo", (Crypta Neapolitana), "Nisida", "Pozzuoli", "Tempio de Serapide", "Castello d'Ischia", "Capri Marina", "Capri Faraglioni", (View of Amalfi, with a Franciscan monk in the foreground), "Sorrento, da Capodimonte", "Casa di Tasso Sorrento", (the Spaghetti Eaters) and several albumen prints of the Vesuvius.

- Boards lvs. trifle browned along edges. Boards originally covered w. fabric but mostly worn off.
= Souvenir photographs depicting i.a. ladies dressed in kimono and traditional Japanese scenery.
= Comes with Certicate of Authenticity issued by GALLERY FIFTY ONE signed by Roger Szmulewicz and stating "Provenance: directly from the artist and GALLERY FIFTY ONE". SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIV.
- Upper hinge broken; loosening; first photograph sl. affected by silverfish; lacks index leaf. Album worn and dam.

= Some places: Resna, Prilep, Lake Ohrid, Saraj Château, Kostinci (graveyard), Vardine and Radsko. Apparently most photographs were taken by (a) German soldier(s) and many show soldiers and officers at rest near their barracks or headquarters. Quite a few also show local people, occas. in local costume. Also including a fine (unidentified) panorama consisting of 9 attached photographs (total size 11x136 cm.).
