- Contents very fine, with only the following small defects: without the contents leaf; first and final few plates trifle foxed; first plate w. vague fold in left margin of image; one plate professionally remargined in lower left blank corner. Spine restored w. use of the orig. backstrip.

= Bastin/ Brommer p.23 and note 377: "The French edition [of: "Gezigten uit Neêrlands Indië, naar de natuur geteekend en beschreven"] is much rarer than the Dutch edition(s). (...). This work differs from the Dutch edition in that it was issued without the halftitle, the two Dedication leaves, and the text, there being only a Contents leaf in the French edition."; cf. Tiele 1136; Loos-Haaxman p.33-34. One of the finest series of 19th century views of Indonesia. Rarely found complete. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LIV.
