= Colophon reads: "Moi, Melkie, servante de J.C. et reine des Arméniens, j'ai donné (...) ce livre des Evangiles, à Notre Dame de Varak, que j'ai bâtie par mes mains et mes frais (...)." One of the photographs shows a (hand?)col. photographic reproduction of a portrait of Byron, who visited the monastery in 1816.
- Mounts sl. foxed (prints fine). Upper outer corner of frontcover a few tiny chips. Silk on box dustsoiled and lacks bone clasp; a few torn/ worn spots in silk (esp. along margins). Otherwise in a very fine condition.

Yokohama and Tokyo, "Fuji from Tokaido", "Yokohama Bay", "Pier Yokohama", "RR Station Yokohama", "Shinbashi Bridge" and "Takinogawa near Tokyo" (both by Kozaburo Tamamura), "Cherry blosom Tokyo" (online identification: Wayside resting place at Mukojima), "Imperial Hotel, Tokyo", "Shiba Temple Tokyo", "Takinogawa near Tokyo", "Mississippibay Yokohama", "near Enoshima", "Kamakura", "Under Fuji", "Yumato, Hakone", "Miyanoshita" and "Hakone Lake". = Incl. scenes of daily life (i.a. Farmers in boats in front of Mount Fuji, Bijin drinking tea, calligraphing or playing koto) sumo wrestlers and a flower salesman.
- Cardboard box (sl.) browned and dam.; envelopes mostly sealed due to age. Cards themselves are fine.
= Small wooden cards w. the size of business cards in 12 different designs, each showing a Meiji/ early Taisho period photograph of famous sites in Japan. These include Mount Fuji, The "floating" torii at Mitsukushima Shrine, Kinkakuji (The Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto and the Meoto-Iwa (Married Couple Rocks) off the shore of Ise, as well as some pictures of fishermen with their boats, and women dressed in kimono strolling through a garden.
- Two photographs w. cut in left margin of the image; photographs occas. loose(ning). Nevertheless in near fine condition.
= This dummy is almost identical to the publication Kalypso & Nausikaä (Amst., 2004), only without the text and with a few small changes in the order of the stamp sized images. This dummy provides a good insight in the production process of Kando's iconic photographic story of the chapters 'Kalypso' and 'Nausikaä' from Homer's Odyssee, an early photo-graphic story with and for children. This lot is subject to 4% resale royalties ('droit de suite') over the total amount of hammerprice and buyer's premium. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XXXVI.

= SIGNED and blindst. copy of the DELUXE EDITION, kept in orig. perspex box w. sliding lid, together w. 6 original photographs, each ±18x23 cm., all w. the photographer's blindstamp and signed "N. Koster 2/4 EA" in black felt tip pen, under passepartouts. Prints of the unearthed lost negatives of the photographs taken by Nico Koster at a private session with John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their stay at the Hilton Hotel Amsterdam, where the couple spent their honeymoon in bed to make an artistic plea for peace against the war in Vietnam.
= Werner Mantz, primarily known for his avantgarde architectural photographs, had a photostudio together with Karl Mergenbaum in Maastricht from 1933 till 1938.
= Family members were employed in deep sea navigation and the collection contains many interesting images of maritime practice. Also including a large number of images from the Dutch East Indies. Some of the (non-photographic) documents date back to the 19th century.
= Very fine photographic portraits of i.a. Richard Hol, Daniël de Lange, Frans Coenen, Samuel de Lange, Julius Röntgen, Peter Benoit, Cateau Esser, Bernard Zweers, S. van Milligen, Anton Averkamp and Henri Viotta.
- Dedication on htitle; brown offsetting from portraits/ mounts on opposite text lvs.; some sl. occas. foxing. Bindings sl. soiled; trifle worn at extremities. Good copy.
