Without the loosely inserted print depicting the four burgomasters of Amsterdam by J. Muller).

= Ad 1: The first edition of this splendid work illustrating the full glory of the Amsterdam townhall was published by D. Danckerts in 1661. Fowler 77; Kat. Orn. Berlin 2234. Plate O1 and O2 "De Grondt en Vloer vande Groote Burger Sael" shows one of the earliest of very few printed records of Tasman's voyages, and the source of Thévenot's famous map of Australia. The marble mosaic floor of the central Burgerzaal featured a world map in two spheres showing the latest discoveries of the Dutch East India Company. The floor was soon worn out to be replaced by plain marble. The printed record, depicted on one double-p. and one full page plate, is the only extant printed record. On the map: Shirley 423.
