A facsimile edition of 500 numb. copies was published in 1993, and an edition with an extensive introduction by Tom Rooduijn was published in 1999. The owner of this copy was Bep Scholte, a friend of the Reve family: "Als kennissen noemde Gerard de familie Romein en Bep Scholte, een leeftijdgenote uit Betondorp, die, volgens een klasgenoot van Gerard, heel mooi was, maar steeds tenniste met jongens die vier jaar ouder waren." (N. Maas, Kroniek van een schuldig leven I. De vroege jaren (1923-1962), p.100).
