= The larger part of the archive seems to relate to a case concerning the ancestry (Jewish or not) of a mrs. Vooijs-Citroen. I.a. from the Rijksinspectie van de bevolkingsregisters (7 October 1943): "Aan mw. J.H. Vooijs-Citroen (...) Hiermede breng ik te Uwer kennis, dat [U] blijft geregistreerd als afstammelinge van vier joodsche grootouders (J)". From the City Council of The Hague (1 November 1943): "Aan den Heer Dr. C.J. Vooijs (...) Nu de Generalkommisar für Verwaltung und Justiz heeft beslist, dat Uw echtgenoote aangemerkt moet worden als Jood (...) dient (...) te worden aangenomen (...) dat Gij (...) uit Uw betrekking van leeraar aan het gemeentelijk Lyceum Stokroosplein, zijt ontslagen."

Also included are several short typescript signed letters from Ragnhild Stapel (a lawyer from The Hague who is known to have spent a few months in the Oranjehotel) who pleaded mrs. Vooijs-Citroen's case before a mr. Callmeijer, to little or no avail: "Geachte mevrouw, Heden vernam ik van bevriende zijde, dat het op het ogenblik zeer ongunstig zou zijn over Uw zaak met Dr. Callmeijer te gaan spreken, daar het humeur op het ogenblik zo is, dat álle zaken worden afgewezen" (3 February 1944). "Geachte mevrouw, (...) Het is hier nu een heel moeilijk geval. Al twee maal ging ik naar Dr. C. en tweemaal werd het mij met nadruk afgeraden, gezien de afschuwelijke stemming van hem." (9 February 1944). The further fate of mrs. Vooijs-Citroen is unknown to us.

(title-p.)). - WITH: loosely inserted short typescript signed letter from Hanns Albin Rauter to "Lieber Kamerad Nufer", dated "Den Haag, den 13. Juli 1943", w. printed letterhead. - AND a laser printed letter from Dick van der Meijden (artist, 1945-2022) to film director Paul Verhoeven, dated "Amsterdam 21 oktober 2009": "Onlangs ben ik via via in het bezit gekomen van de telefoongids 'Duitse Bezettingsmacht' van Den Haag 1941, met daarin ook een door Rauter ondertekend briefje aan Kamarad Nufer uit 1943. Het lijkt me zo dat U daarin wel geïnteresseerd zou kunnen zijn en ik wil dit U gaarne cadeau doen. Ook lijkt me dit document meer bij U op plaats dan bij mij."

= The very first publication ever of any part of Anne Frank's diary (on p.432-442), preceding the first book edition (1947). In 1946, Anne's father Otto Frank, after several failed attempts to have the diary published, gave a typed transcript to a friend who in turn lent it to Jan Romein (professor of modern history and one of the editors of the journal De Nieuwe Stem) and his wife Annie Romein-Verschoor. Romein was very impressed and arranged the publication of excerpts in his journal.
