H. Bellmer, A. Breton, J. Gracq, L. Carrington and A.P. de Mandiargues. "Avec son format carré, Le surréalisme, même ne ressemble guère aux revues de l'avant-guerre. C'est une publication luxueuse où les reproductions d'oeuvres plastiques occupent une place importante, sans enlever toutefois la part qui leur revient à la poésie et aux contributions théoriques. Les prise de position politique non plus ne sont pas absentes en cette période où les surr. ne pouvaient rester indifférents devant la dégradation de la situation intérieure française, la guerre d'Algérie et la répression de la révolution hongroise." - A very fine copy. Two hardly visible, minimally rubbed spots on leather cornerpiece in upper outer corner of frontcover. Clamshell box trifle foxed along extremities of backcover.
= UNIQUE COPY with a sprawling drawing with extensive AUTOGRAPH dedication by PETER BEARD in pen and red, green, black and purple ink on the transparant colophon leaf preceding the printed title-page. The dedication is written partly in a drawing of a hand and a giraffe and reads: "Special Delivery by hand to the inestimable & amazing Vlada & André (in ecology green) Best from Peter [heart] November 27th 2006 ad Driftwood Cove Box 603 Montauk Point L.I. N.Y. 11954".
