= Second part of an extremely rare and important Roman-catholic songbook. The first part, Den Boeck der gheesteliicke sanghen Bedeelt in twee deelen den Bliiden Requiem ende Gheluckighe uyt-vaert, was published in 1631. Scheurleer II, 49,2; BCNI 9232.
- A very fine copy.
= Wellcome II, 159; Baumann p.71-79. Popular medicinal manual by the erudite Van Beverwijck, friend of the poet J. Cats, whose poems are found throughout the book. With the title of earlier editions on the frontispiece: "Alle de wercken, zo in de medicyne als chirurgie."

= The rare first edition. Tiele 733. Contains the journal of Meerman's travels through Russia and Scandinavia. The final 2 vols. contain i.a. P.F. SUHM, Verhaalen uit de Noordsche helden-eeuw.

= The extremely rare first Dutch edition of Hortensius' Tumultuum Anabaptistarum liber unus (Basel, 1548). Knuttel, Ned. bibl. kerkgesch., p.150/151 mentions as earliest edition the ed. Enkhuizen, 1624. Detailed account of the events in Münster, the riots of the Anabaptists in Amsterdam etc.
- Vague library stamp on title; waterstained in upper inner margin throughout (worse in the middle).

The second part is entirely devoted to Arabia: "Die ganze "Kaffeewissenschaft" über die das späte 17. Jahrhundert bereits verfügte, findet sich hier zusammengefasst" (Vom Kaffee in frühen Reiseberichten p.25; not in Arents and Müller).

The name and place of the publisher are fake; neither the place nor the publisher ever existed, however, on his 2nd voyage James Cook brought a man from Tahiti to London whose name was Omai, coming from a town named Huahine who, of course, was the talk of the town. Rare.
- Final 20 lvs. of the 4th part browned. Otherwise a fine, untrimmed copy.
= Extremely rare, a combination of a topographical description of the Netherlands and a novel. Tiele 69 (only listing 3 parts).

= Our copy with Guicciardini illustratus 11 no.(1)-(43), (48)-(100); Tiele 430. The first edition with Dutch text, this copy with the map of the siege of Ostend instead of the bird's eye plan ("In sommige exemplaren van de editie van 1612 is de oospronkelijke stadsplattegrond van Oostende (-1) vervangen door een belegeringskaart (Oostende-2)" (GI) and without the occas. bound in extra plates of Amsterdam. But with the often lacking plate of Middelburg city hall by P. BAST. According to P. Buijnsters bound by A. MAGNUS.

Brummel p.171: "Zijn werk heeft niet alleen (...) het materiaal bijeengebracht voor de latere historicus, maar het was tevens en vooral het leesboek, dat de bewoners van deze landen hun politiek verleden en heden leerde kennen of in herinnering bracht. De jaren van geweld en onderdrukking, van lijden en verzet gingen voor het eerst in een aaneengeschakeld verhaal aan hun geestesoog voorbij. Dit boek was een machtig wapen in onze strijd voor de vrijheid. (...) Wat voor de godsdienst de Statenbijbel, voor de letteren Cats was, bleef een eeuw lang Van Meteren voor onze geschiedenis. De man, die dit boek gedurende 30 jaren met zijn zorgen heeft omringd, leefde buitens land. Het mag een wonder heten, dat hij, die van zijn 15e jaar af in Londen gewoond heeft en slechts nu en dan voor een korte tijd ons land bezocht, zoveel materiaal kon verzamelen en bewerken, dat voor een deel tot op de huidige dag zijn waarde nog niet verloren heeft".
