= A collection of views from the rare first edition of this beautiful series of decorative views of Sorghvliet (rarely found complete). Originally consisting of 45 engravings, 4 large and 41 smaller engraved views/ plans on which see Hunt/ De Jong, The Anglo-Dutch garden in the age of William and Mary, p.165ff; Springer p.45 (calling for 40 plates only).
- Neatly torn on folds.
= With manuscript annots. on verso reading: "Overzichtskaart der nog aanwezige werken v/d gemeente 's Gravenhage" and "Voor een opgave + kaart van de in April 1946 reeds opgeruimde werken in de gemeente 's Gravenhage zie brief van de directeur van de Openbare Dienst voor den Wederopbouw te 'Gravenhage d.d. 19 April nr. 2421 (...)." The additions were made in 1946, just after the war.
- A very fine copy. = Very rare.

(title continued). In January 1756, the dike running from Oost-Vlieland to (already for the greater part permanently flooded) West-Vlieland breached.
