= The Comte d'Estaing, centre, sword in hand, promoting soldier Houradour, standing to his left, in recognition of his bravery in defending soldier Devence, standing clutching the standard he seized from the British at the capture of Grenada.
- Middle fold splitting at both ends/ strengthened w. paper tape on verso; trifle frayed.
- Creases and closed tear at lower end of central fold and closed damage in lower blank margin; vertical crease and/ or tear from top to bottom to the right of the central fold (prob. a. pinting flaw).
= The second state, after the addition of plate numbers to the maps. Famous celestial map, in which the pagan and zodiacal signs and names tradtionally used for the naming of constellations are replaced by Christian names and symbols. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXVI.
