Er bestaan verschillende uitgaven van de kaart, gezien de verandering van de wapens en het al dan niet voorkomen van het achtregelige gedicht van E. Meyster op de diverse exemplaren (...)." (our copy without the poem by Meyster). Very rare. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXIV.
- A few sm. closed tears in upper blank margin. Fine copy.
= Very rare and interesting plan concerning the extreme beach erosion at Egmond aan Zee, from which the village had suffered since its settlement. The plan shows the erosion that occurred between 1686 and 1718 and the dikes built to prevent further loss of land and to save the church, its tower now with its front directly on the beach. Unfortunately, however, these dikes could not prevent the entire church and 36 houses from being swallowed by the sea during a December storm in 1741. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXV.
