- Professionally restored; doubled and remargined w. thin Japanse; one inkstain in right margin of image; cut on/ inside the bordeline; one tiny hole repaired; formerly folded (visible on verso).

= A scene showing the intermedio, a theatrical performance during the Italian Renaissance and predecessor to opera. Particularly popular amongst the ruling Italian families, including the Medici family. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XCVIII.

- Tipped onto mount in all 4 corners, w. glue stains sl. shining through; sl. fingersoiled.

= The British Museum attributes this print to Lambertus Suavius. A curious allegorical print on the proverb Poverty is the daughter of War (War brings on poverty). Very rare. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XCIV.
