= The first(?) publication of a (stereo)photograph in a Dutch book. Contains a contribution "Bij de titelplaat" by "Ln." on p.163-171, i.a. identifying the photographer and subject. "(...) (p.167-168).

= Le Géant was the hot air balloon of the French photographer Nadar, who made several demonstration flights with this ballloon in Europe. After displaying the balloon in the Paleis voor Volksvlijt, the flight in Amsterdam was planned on September 11, 1865, but due to heavy wind, it was postponed to the 14th.
