= Labarre 168. Impressive and immensely popular dictionary, in an edition considerably enlarged from the first version of 1502, which was a Latin dictionary to the present edition in 11 languages. Such was its popularity that the name of Calepinus became a synonym for dictionaries of all sorts.

= An almost absolute rarity amongst calligraphy books: only one copy traced at the University of Mons. No copies traced on the market or in the JAP and ABPC; no copy in Bonacini. Maximilianus Hesius, organist and organ builder, as well as school master and writing master, was born in Mons in 1593 and died 1652. He is known to have written two works: the present title and a grammar book called Les conjugaisons de la langue Française, also published in 1640. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXXXVIII.
