= One of only two complete copies known (see Hunt 24). Provenance: F.W.T. Hunger (bookplate on upper pastedown). Dutch translation of the Ortus sanitatis (...) ein Gart der Gesuntheit (first publ. in 1485 by Peter Schöffer in Mainz). The illustrations were copied from the Latin Ortus sanitatis, which was published in 1491 by Jacob von Meydenbach in Mainz. Nissen, BBI 2290; Nijhoff-Kronenberg 1052; Hunt 24, stating that only 4 copies of this edition are known, of which only two are complete. Rare. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CIX.
