Scheepers I, 442; Waller 251 and Muller 471 only the second edition of 1643. Baumann in his biography on this Dutch physician: "We zouden zeggen een hyper-feministisch pleidooi". = "De narrencultuur en het motief van de omgekeerde wereld lijken na 1600 helemaal te gaan verdwijnen. Het vermaak lijkt een nieuwe richting op te gaan: moraliserender, nog steeds normerend, maar niet meer door de bestaande fouten in extreme mate te tonen. Deze verandering is goed te zien wanneer men de volgende wedstrijd bekijkt die door Piero werd belegd. Die vond plaats in 1613, wederom in Leiden en wederom met Piero als organisator. Er bleef dus veel hetzelfde in vergelijking met 1596. Tegelijkertijd was er een wereld van verschil. (...) De opdracht die Piero uiteindelijk geeft, betreft het schrijven van een referein met vier strofen van dertien regels, met als refereinregel Voor al te wijs en valt gheen prijs, als sot gheacht, voor wie al te wijs wil zijn, is er maar een beloning: voor gek worden versleten. Deze stok nodigt natuurlijk uit tot bespiegelingen over waanwijsheid. In totaal hebben achttien kamers, rederijkerszotten en particulieren een bijdrage geschreven. Deze zijn, samen met een referein van Piero's hand, gebundeld onder de titel Negenthien refereynen int sot, gheprononcieert om prijs, de bundel verscheen in 1614 in Leiden".
