69/5549 ["Paustekeningen"]. Lot of 6 perforated "paustekeningen", 18th cent., pen and brown ink (4x)/ pencil (1x)/ perforation only (1x), 33x21 to 38,5x25,5 cm.

- One drawing waterst.; one drawing w. sm. burning holes.

= Early method of copying images. A drawing was made on paper and very delicately perforated along the lines. By blowing finely ground soot through the tiny holes, the image was reproduced on a background and could easily be finished by hand. The drawings in this lot prob. used for wall decoration, incl. patterns w. putti, flowering branches, peacocks and a dog.

WITH: 2 pieces of handpainted wallpaper (18th cent.) and a small leaf w. pattern design in pencil.
