Wim Brusse was married to photographer Eva Besnyö and is mostly known as graphic designer. As pupil of Paul Schuitema he used photomontage in his design, mostly in the 1930's. = Rare photograph by the Belgian designer and photographer Paul Guermonprez, founder of advertisement and graphic design company Co-op 2. Guermonprez became part of the Dutch restistance in World War II. House Nijland was the home of the former brother-in-law of the architect Piet Elling, designed in the modernist style by him. Interior design partly in cooperation with the artist Bart van der Leck. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXVII.

= Co-op 2 was the advertisement company founded by Paul Guermonprez. The house was designed by the ex brother-in-law of the owner, the architect Piet Elling and it is considered one of the finest examples of Dutch modernist architecture. The desk standing in the room was designed by Elling and probably built by himself (see also lot 3889). The design was heavily inspired by the furniture of Gerrit Rietveld, a friend of Elling.

= Nice images of the newly built railway depot at Feijenoord with its characteristic round hangar. It would be demolished almost a century later, in 1964.
