= Blonk-van der Wijst 41C.5. Donkersloot-de Vrij 776: "De kaart werd verkocht met en zonder een sierrand van gravures van steden en dorpen en een beschrijving" (this copy without). A reprint of the 1st edition was published 1973. Koeman, Ges. kartografie Ned., p.104: "Ook Zeeland heeft in de vijftiger jaren van de 17e eeuw een monumentale wandkaart gekregen (...). Deze fraaie kaart in 9 bladen geeft Zeeland weer op voor die tijd royale schaal 1:40.000 (...). Verschillende drukken (...) laten onderling kleine verschillen zien. - All maps sheets folded once (middle fold not sharp); four maps sheets w. vague and small waterstain around lower end of middle fold, mainly affecting the (ample) blank margins.
= A fine copy of this magnificent and rare map, first published in 1683 and republished with alterations no less than seven times between 1696 and 1818, usually in editions of about 200 copies. The editions varied predominantly in the coats of arms of the changing dike-reeves but also in some editing of the map itself. Donkersloot-de Vrij mentions David Coster as editor of both map and coats of arms for the edition of 1734; apart from the central "Crimpenre Waard" coat of arms, the present 1792-edition shows completely different coats of arms (shields, helmets, mantling), but Donkersloot-de Vrij does not give any engraver's name. = A fine copy of this magnificent and rare map in its 8th and final edition, first published in 1683 and republished with alterations no less than seven times between 1696 and 1818, usually in editions of about 200 copies. The editions varied predominantly in the coats of arms of the changing dike-reeves but also in some editing of the map itself. Apart from some enhancing/ reworking of worn parts of the copperplates, no changes in the map were found compared to the previous edition of 1792 (offered in the preceding lot of this auction). WITH a duplicate copy of the sheet with the coat of arms of Jan Smits van der Goes. Donkersloot-de Vrij 766.

= Rare. Published for the Zuid-Hollandsche IJsvereeniging. Map I shows the area between Leyden, Hoek van Holland and Rotterdam; map II shows the area between Leyden, Woerden, Schoonhoven and Rotterdam; map III shows the area between Leyden, Haarlem and Amsterdam. The text booklet contains descriptions of 16 different skating routes.
