Leber Des Cérémonies du sacre. (...) Le Chant du Sacre renfermait quelques vers qui déplurent à M. le duc d'Orléans, en amenant sur la scène avec une exactitude trop historique le souvenir des opinions du duc son père. Il y eut à ce sujet, entre le prince et le poète, une petite négociation, de laquelle il résulta que M. de La Martine n'ayant pas eu l'intention d'offenser son altesse royale, faisait bien volontiers le sacrifice des vers dans lesquels elle avait cru voir une allusion injurieuse (ou plutôt du seconde tirage) et l'on dit que la premiere a été achetée toute entière à l'éditeur, M.
