Oplage 650 exemplaren. In 1969 verscheen hiervan een heruitgave." = According to the Rijksmuseum engraved by M. Val. In 1765, the city council of Rotterdam decided to replace the dilapidated old Delftse Poort. Hammevel's and Verrijst's proposal of an alternative design was partly rooted in the frustration that the city council had sought the expertise outside the city of Rotterdam. The plan described here still shows the old gate.
