= Caricatural comment on the series of events after the proclamation of the Third French Republic on September 4th, 1870. Adolphe Thiers became head of the goverment in 1871 and supressed the Paris Commune resulting in thousands of deaths.

= Caricature with i.a. the Duke of Wellington. Early British depiction of the Jim Crow figure. Jumping Jim Crow is used here as an expression of inconsistency for one own's sake, in this case political inconsistency of the government of Lord Melbourne. The figure of Jim Crow was introduced by the American black face entertainer and actor T.D. Rice, who played Jim Crow in the Adelphi Theatre in London.

= Het Palmhof der Bondgenooten, consisting of 9 cartoons, about the hardships endured by the French during the year 1708 in the Spanish War. These three prints are on the loss of the battle of Oudenaarde, the famine on the French side during the siege of Lille, and the capture of Ghent by the allied forces.
