- Two (old) identification tickets on verso of frame.

= Henry Bone RA (6 February 1755 - 17 December 1834) was an English enamel painter who was officially employed in that capacity by three successive monarchs, George III, George IV and William IV. In his early career he worked as a porcelain and jewelry painter. He was elected a Royal Academician and produced the largest enamel paintings ever seen up to that time. = Two decorative family trees set in an identical Empire-style architectural background. One with the coat of arms of the respective ancestors of Alexander Hendrik Metelerkamp (1744-1816) (mayor of Gouda in 1787, 1788, 1791 en 1792 and 1807-1810) and Anna Elisabeth de Rhoer. The second for their grandson mr. Alexander Hendrik Metelerkamp (1804-1871) and his wife Catharina Gerarda Johanna verLoren (1805-1877). Cornelis Borsteegh became the "Stadstekenmeester" of the city of Gouda in 1819 (Scheen 1981).
