- Rubbed and w. acid bite (incl. small dam. area w. holes); margins strengthened on verso w. old paper.

= Despite the defects a very nice and extremely skilfully drawn trompe l'oeil, probably Flemish. The central image a circular etching after David Teniers showing people outside a tavern, surrounded by numerous etchings/ engravings/ book leaves/ advertisments etc. in either red or brown of i.a. fish, a kingfisher, beggars, 'tronies' (typical faces), a "Gazette van Antwerpen" broadside, a playing card, the book leaves "Den Boeren oft Schaper Almanach (...) 1796" and "[Ec]ole des femmes [cha]nson morale", 'business cards' "(...) De Tombarely fils Ainé Parfumeur à Grasse en Provence" and "P.J. de Bridt Brouwers straet", a caricatural image with dwarves bearing the text "Fait à la plume par Andreas [...?] van den Bogaert[?] an 1790[?]", and an envelope reading "Monsieur [...?] Joseph de Mart-[...?] Maire de la Ville de et[?] Gheel" (this envelope in the damaged area), with illegible sender's information(?).
