= The photographer and artist Heinen was active as decoration painter in Amsterdam. Many of his wallpaintings are lost now. The spectacular views, many taken from a high vantage point, i.a. show the Dam, Stadsschouwburg, Paleis voor Volksvlijt, Centraal Station, Oosterdok, Oude Zijds Voorburgwal, and Amsteldijk. = This unique cibachrome print was commissioned by the exhibition makers, from the original autochrome (color glass slide, ±1925) by LEENDERT BLOK. This cibachrome print was used in a travelling exposition on the early colour photographs of tulips by Blok and modern colour photographs by Jasper Wiedeman. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXV.

- Defect in lower right corner; vague surface flaws; some dark stains.

= Van Sinderen p.52: "(...) Veel van die foto's drukte hij af in de 'onvergankelijke' kooldruk. Zijn mooiste afdrukken maakte hij echter in de combinatiegomdruk, waarvoor drie drukken over elkaar werden gebruikt: één voor de schaduwen, één voor de halftinten en één voor de lichten. Boer was zeer bedreven in deze zogeheten edeldrukprocédés. Zijn grootste liefde was de landschaps- en genrefotografie. Hij trok vaak het land in, met name naar Zeeland, Brabant en het Gooi. Daar liet hij plattelandsbewoners poseren voor hun eenvoudige huisjes. Zijn romantische, picturale foto's vertoonden invloeden van Engelse fotografen uit de tijd. De composities waren evenwichtig, eenvoudig en schilderkunstig van opbouw."
