= In very good condition. The Sphygmomanometer measures the blood pressure by affecting the height of a column of mercury. - Manufacturer's ticket and lining of upper lid sl. dam; probably w. one non-related item; instrument in good condition. Locks broken; box sl. worn along extremities.

= The Struycken Monochord is used to measure the hearing limit for air- and boneconductivity. It was invented by the Dutch otolaryngologist H.J.L. Struycken in the early 1900's. Around 1925, he sold his invention and the patent to the German medical instrument firm H. Pfau: "Herr Dr. Struycken überträgt der Firma H. Pfau. Inh. L. Lieberknecht die Alleinfabrikation und den Alleinvertrieb für die Welt des von Ihm angegebenen Monochordes gegen eine einmalige Kaufsumme von Mk. 1000,- und eine Licenz von Mk. 5,- (fünf Mark) für jedes nummerierte Exemplar, wogegen sich Herr Struycken verpflichtet, jedem Stück eine Gebrauchsanweisung beizugeben und für jedes Exemplar die genaue Tonhöhe photographisch festzustellen. Wenn dies nicht verlangt wird ermäßigt sich die von der Firma Pfau, Inh. H. Lieberknecht an Herrn Dr. Struycken zu entrichtende Licenz auf Mk. 2,- für jedes Exemplar. = The Potain aspirator is designed for the removal of fluids and gas from the body, especially the pleural space. It would have been in regular use until the antibiotic era became well established.

= Box contains an oscillotonometer, a cuff of cloth and a rubber bulb. A valve mechanism attached to the dial. Probably imported by the Dutch firm H. Stöpler, originially instrument maker of i.a. prothesises and corsettes but also importer of medical instruments since 1902.
