= Rare plan of the historic house Beekestein in Velsen-Zuid, North-Holland. In 1742 Jacob Boreel bought the manor, which he expanded in 1772. He reshaped the garden after designs by the German garden architect J.G. Michaël in the so-called romantic English landscape style including a few follies (also depicted on this large plan). It is considered to be the first English landscape garden in the Netherlands. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXXVII.
