Brentjens p.234; Maan/ Van der Ree '90, p.45; Spencer '83, p.127; Broos '73, p.69; Broos '96, p.39; Monguzzi p.76; cf. Dutch historical avantgarde typography - The collection Johan Venema lot 752. "The year 1931 saw the appearance of the first stamps to feature Piet Zwart's photomontage. The 36 cent airmail stamp and the 70 cent stamp depicting Craft and Industry were issued in September. These were followed by the so-called 'Gouda Glass' stamps, which included a supplement which went towards the restoration of the sixteenth-century stained glass windows of St Jans church in Gouda. The 80 cent stamp, dedicated to Trade and Industry, was not issued until 1933" (Broos '96, p.39).
