= Very rare and interesting plan concerning the extreme beach erosion at Egmond aan Zee, from which the village had suffered since its settlement. The plan shows the erosion that occurred between 1686 and 1718 and the dikes built to prevent further loss of land and to save the church, its tower now with its front directly on the beach. Unfortunately, however, these dikes could not prevent the entire church and 36 houses from being swallowed by the sea during a December storm in 1741.
- Not examined outside frame, possibly laid down on board; a few trifle browned stains; trifle frayed; trifle soiled along margins.
= Hollstein 59, 3rd state (of 6). Very rare "news" map showing the events during this lesser known battle between the Spaniards and the Dutch States 10 years after the Twelve Years' Truce. It also shows many fortifications by the 'Dutch' revolters and the Spanish, recognizable by their flags. Visscher. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE LXIV.
