= Blonk-van der Wijst 71.2a, 2nd state (of 5, w. the year 1696): "Deze kaart behoort tot de 'contrefaçon hollandaise', de Sanson/ Jaillot-atlas die door Pieter Mortier in Amsterdam werd uitgegeven. In de Nederlandse productie van atlassen neemt deze atlas een uitzonderingspositie in omdat, hoewel hij in Nederland is gemaakt, op de kaarten en op het titelblad van de atlas alleen Jaillot te Parijs als uitgever is vermeld. Noch op de kaarten, noch op het titelblad is de naam van Mortier vermeld. (...) Pieter Mortier heeft op de kaart van Holland veel veranderd." "Vernieuwend is de kaart wat betreft vormgeving. Na een hele reeks kaarten met het noorden links of rechts ligt het noorden nu weer boven. De plaatsnamen zijn horizontaal geplaatst en niet meer kris kras door elkaar. De kaart is ruim en overzichtelijk" (Blonk-van der Wijst 64, on the French example for this map). The "Table alphabétique" is rarely found with the map. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XLVIII.
