Christmas and New Year wishes of the artist and his wife Mary, and ex libris for Ary and Janny Baggerman, mostly woodengravings and (col.) woodcuts, incl. two drawings, partly signed in pencil, partly tipped onto paper mounts. - AND 37 TYPESCRIPT LETTERS SIGNED and 13 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED, "(Mary en) Cor"/ "Cor de Wolff", to "(Janny en) Arie"/ "vrienden"/ "mensen", dated from "12 november 1948" to "14 oktober 1962", the typescript letters signed in pen and blue ink, the autograph letters written in pen and blue ink, together 54 lvs., mostly written on the artist's own stationery, various sizes, mostly on both sides.

= Nice collection of graphics designed by the artist with related correspondence. The letters display (the development of) a close friendship between Cor and Mary de Wolff, and Janny and Ary Baggerman, and concern i.a. Cor's graphic designs and other art projects, his 60th anniversary, and multiple birthday, Christmas and New Year wishes. "(...) we hebben elkaar nu voor het eerst gezien, gesproken en besnoven en "alles is van de bovenste plank" hoor! Tenminste het is mijn indruk en ik mag veronderstellen, dat we elkaar "bevallen" zijn. (...) Een klein podloodtekeningetje voor Janny, als klein bewijs van mijn groot respect. Voor Ary de prentjes, plus polijstpapier voor de gutsen. Bij m'n volgende komst zal ik Ary helpen met z'n gereedschappen en het goed leren snijden in een blok." [15/11/1948]. "Wij maken ons ongerust over Janny omdat we nog niks hebben gehoord. Laat ons zo mogelijk omgaand even horen, hoe alles is gegaan. (...) En hierbij de ex libris en een proef op Japans van het nieuwe prentje. (...) Ik heb er 't allerbeste aan gegeven, wat ik in me had. Dat zullen je [sic] er aan zien. Precies een kaartje voor een paar buitengewone mensen in een klein buitengewoon en prachtig stadje." [16/12/1948]. "Een Vriend-Pater schreef me: "wat voel ik me klein in m'n versleten groen toogje naast U en wat een eer staat U te gebeuren [Cor's 60th anniversary]. Beter thans geëerd dan een posthume hulde." En zo is het maar. In een hoekje kruipen en achter een boompje pissen is geen kunst, maar de kranten doen rillen, de mensen doen praten, wel, zo iets kan niet anders dan tot succes leiden. Mogelijk komt het lijden nog daarna. Ik hoop van harte, dat als ik in de Hemel mag komen, ik niet zo zal worden afgebeuld dan [sic] hier op aarde." [4/4/1949]. "Goede vriend Ary, Zondag is DE grote dag; de dag van allerlei goede wensen, die je in ontvangst zult hebben te nemen, de omhelzingen, die je te wachten staan en de borreltjes, die je met de overige feestvierders naar binnen zal moeten slaan (...) Ik zou het als een grote vreugde hebben beschouwd, indien ik zo -geheel onverwachts- bij jullie had kunnen zijn. Maar... de pegels m'n lieve Vriend! Nee, het is de dood in de pot tegenwoordig. (...) het [is] onder kunstenaars de laatste tijd piesen en poepen geblazen. Sinds tijden zo goed als niets meer te verdienen." [27/4/1951]. Also includes 2 manuscript letters signed "Gerard van Vliet" to "Ary Baggerman" and 1 typescript letter response by Baggerman, a portrait photograph of Cor de Wolff by J. BOKMA/ E. DE VRIES (gelatin silver print) and some ephemera concering Cor, i.a. his obituary, the invitation to his 60th anniversary and newspaper clippings.
