Falter" and bound in a full morocco binding made in remembrance of the battles of Quatre Bras and Waterloo: frontcover decorated with a giltstamped "Willemsorde" ornament surrounded by gilt rays and with giltlettered "Quatre Bras" above and giltlettered "Waterloo" below the ornament; backcover decorated with a giltstamped medallion of a crowned "W" within a wreath enclosed by a stylized cross, two crossed officer's staffs below, and with giltlettered "Hasselt" above and giltlettered "Leuven" below the ornament. An explanatory letter is pasted on recto of first free endpaper, in which General W.F. von Pestel (1802-1880) states that he received this copy from the widow of General Falter in his memory.
