Korea is shown as an island, but Hondius doubts in Latin text (not present on the Ortelius version) whether this is correct. He adds that the Koreans in war are energetic, but cruel and barbarous ("In bello sunt strenui sed crudeles et barbari"). SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XC.
