= Rare fine complete album concerning the Frans Hals Festivities in Haarlem on June 14, 1900. In the presence of Queen Wilhelmina and Queen Mother Emma, a statue of the painter who died in Haarlem was unveiled, a concert was held in the Sint Bavo church and a parade was organized. = NIce album, the large photographs show geishas in their daily routine, i.a. enjoying a walk through the garden, making music, reading letters, but also a group of women gathering shells along the coast, a priest with his retainer, a birdwhistler(?), 2 young girls each carrying a younger brother on their back and a streetvendor selling brushes, pots and pans etc. The small prints were probably made by a group of Western travellers and show lively street scenes and group portraits of people that the maker of these photographs met on their way (incl. photographs on which members of the group of travellers are seen).
