= Charming toy for adults. When singing, the birds open their beaks, turn their heads and move their tails. The bottom without any manufacturer's indication. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE XLV.

Small letterpress description of an automaton, torn from an unidentified publication, late 18th/ early 19th cent., with 2 contemporary schematic drawings in pen and ink (±19x31 cm.), showing the technical details.

- With ink biting, causing weak parts in the drawing.

= The automaton depicts a Dutch view with a bridge over a waterway on which boats sail and people and carriages crossing the bridge. The whole driven by a wheel turned by falling sand. With annotation on the clipping "Gerrit Manhe(?) te Rott. gekogt Aug. 1801 voor f40".
