78/6191 Bentinck, C.F. Curtenius (1814-1849). (Portrait of H.A.F.A. Gobius, aged 18). Drawing, black chalk, 10,5x12,5 cm., signed "C. Bentinck ft" and "NB zie achterzijde", "toen 18 jaren oud op 20 Mei 1833" in pen and brown ink.

= Gobius (1815-1899) became an amateur artist and art collector later in life. Annotation on verso (by the artist?) in pencil: "Portret van: H.A.F.A. Gobius naar het leven door Cs.F. Curtenius Bentinck te Utrecht den 20 Mei 1833 ten huize zijner Moeder Mevrouw de Wed. Bentinck geb. Sanders boven Abrahamsen Oud Kerkhof te Utrecht". Bentinck was a student at the art academy in Utrecht and was probably a personal friend of Gobius.
