This was the work with which De la Court introduced successful ananas-growing in Europe, as a result of which the ananas became a popular fruit in Europe. Kat. Orn. Berlin 3406; Springer p.42-43; Oldenburger-Ebbers/ Stehouwer, Doc.18E., no. 40, p.6-7: "(...) tot nu toe vroegst bekende verhandeling over het aanleggen van tuinen in Holland.
