Uw scherpzinnigste redeneeringen kunnen dat niet veranderen, aangezien theorie ondergeschikt blijft aan gevoel. (...) Een woord, met zijn spelling is een kostbaar, zelf gegroeid ding; Elke willekeurige, opzettelijke, theoretische verandering, niet gebaseerd op gevoel en smaak, maar op onderwijs-belangen of redeneering, is verminking en vandalisme. (...) Ik geef u inderdaad volkomen vrijheid te spreken van "de nederlanse naassie" (...)
