= The rare, often lacking, commentary vol. of the sumptuous facsimile edition (Frankf. a.M., 1974-1979) of this magnificent medieval songbook. It is the single most comprehensive source of Middle High German Minnesang poetry, written and illuminated in Zurich in the early 14th century, for the Manesse (or Manegg) family, at that time the most wealthy family of Zurich.
