"Huis in de Doelestraat te Amsterdam gemerkt B74 en B.73 in 't jaar 1854 bewoond door J.W. van Loon voor de helft en de andere helft kantoor van den Hr Fakranen. Firma Ketwich en Voombergh." Drawing on two attached leaves, pen and ink, pencil and brown/ orange wash, 31x25 cm.

- Folded twice; sl. foxed; sl. frayed.

= There are also 2 other captions In left and right margin, reading as follows: "Huis bewoond door den Heer Bieleveldt" and "Huis bewoond door de Wed. Voombergh". The firm of Ketwich and Voombergh was an administration office that was eventually acquired by the bankers Labouchère Oyens & Co. In 1890 they commissioned the architect F.W.M. Poggenbeek to design a new office for their firm, which they used until 1908. Presently the building is incorporated in Hotel de l'Europe.

ADDED: an 20th cent. watercolour titled "De Nieuwmarkt met Waaggebouw, Amsterdam (St. Antoniuswaag)" by J. Müller, dated "17-8-'28".

From the collection of Albert Welcker with his stamped collector's mark (Lugt 2793c) and manuscript inventory no. "403".
