= The 26 emblems in the first work after O. VAENIUS, Emblemata Horatiana. Each emblem with a motto and a poem by Anthoni Jansen. The rural folding plate and 4 illustrations to the seasons accompany "Het Lof van 't Lantleven". The nice illustration to "De Herfst" shows the harvesting and treading of grapes. The second work contains 12 illustrations to the months of the year and contains i.a. a poem on the smoking of tobacco and a translation of the Disticha by Cato. It is a very rare edition of a work that was first published by J. van Royen, Amst., ±1693-1709. Ad 1: Landwehr 451; cat. Riedel Horatiana U6 (in the 6th ed. by T. Bliek, Amst., 1781. Ad 2: Landwehr 553; Geerebaert C16c and cf. Scheepers I, 362 (2nd ed.): "Ook dit werkje dat niet door de Vries vermeld wordt, hoewel de 1e druk waarschijnlijk toch vóór 1700 is verschenen, is zeldzaam." SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXXXII.
