This copy with the plates of the first edition of 1619, numbered in the right lower corner only and w. erratic order (corrected in later eds.) and with the title (a later(?) copy on Japanese paper) undated (like the 3rd ed.), but w. the address of the 2nd ed. of 1636; also without the general "L'Annonciation" plate, only present in the first ed.: "Il se rencontre des exemplaires de l'ouvrage avec le titre du 3e état et les estampes du 1er. = Petrus Laurentius Regout (1801-1878) was a wealthy industrial and founder of the internationally acclaimed Regout factories of ceramics and glass in Maastricht, later to be known as De Koninklijke Sphinx. The album contains several plates (incl. nice bird's eye views) depicting the family estate at Vaeshartelt which was purchased by Regout from king Willem II, as well as images of the factories, heraldic plates, portraits etc. Very rare and monumental work on industrial history in Maastricht and the Netherlands as a whole, published in a small number of copies. Early use of photography (albumen prints) in a bookpublication. SEE ILLUSTRATION PLATE CXII.

WITH another (variant and incomplete) copy of the same work, containing 1 text leaf ("Preface" in three languages) and 6 col. lithogr. plates, in orig. clothbacked boards w. title on frontcover reading "Propriété de Monsr. P. Regout à Maestricht Hollande. À location meublée ou non meublée".

= Interesting variants of the plates: in general the colours of the plates are less pronounced and three of the plates are different from the plates in the preceding album in that they have no staffage of people.
