= One of the major works on thermodynamics and the first collected edition of Planck's twenty papers on the subject. These papers originally appeared in scientific journals, and were published between 1879 (his thesis) and 1896; at the end of the present volume Planck gives a bibliography of them. This classic work of modern physics went through numerous editions, the 9th German edition appeared in 1930 and English, French and Russian translations were published between 1900 and 1927.
