"The widest circulation of any of his multiples was achieved by the 'Taschenzimmer' [Pocket Room], which was available from 1968 onwards (...) A transitory object made to fit snugly into one's trouser pocket, it consisted of a card bearing a rubbed stamped picture of a table inside a playing card box,with a slice of banana pressed onto the card. Set within this 'frame', the banana was free to moulder on the table and gradually disintegrate (...)" (p.16). Provenance: the collection of Kees Broos and Liesbeth Brandt Corstius.
